About Kyle

Everyone needs an outlet, and for Kyle Shirk, it has always been music. Ever since his eighth birthday when he was gifted a keyboard, he became obsessed with those 88 keys. He started taking lessons immediately from Mrs. Melba, a local piano instructor in his hometown of Fort Mill, South Carolina. Over the years, Kyle grew tired of reading sheet music and started watching YouTube tutorials religiously, determined to learn the theory necessary to write his own songs. As girls, sports, and school became more prevalent in his life, his piano was always there for him. It was his first real love, and he has never let it go.

When his parents relocated to Connecticut during his freshman year of high school, Kyle's piano came with him. Covering music from artists like Billy Joel, Elton John, and Ed Sheeran, he was subconsciously picking apart what made these songs so amazing. Kyle was introduced to Garageband, which furthered his interest in songwriting. Music was still a hobby for him, as he was recruited to play lacrosse at his dream school in upstate New York. Then, out of nowhere, COVID-19 hit Connecticut. The lockdown went into full effect, leaving Kyle alone in his parents' basement for months on end. With the threat of death by boredom, he finally decided to give songwriting a try. Despite never having sung before, a couple of months later, he finished his first song. It was recorded on an iPhone mic in an unfinished basement, but it was enough to make him want to do nothing but make music for the rest of his life. Kyle had four years to write as many songs as humanly possible to avoid the inevitability of a nine-to-five desk job. So, with the clock ticking and dozens of songs later, he stumbled into a songwriting deal that allowed him to pursue his passion for music out in Los Angeles.

Now, after spending the past few months finalizing his releases, Kyle Shirk is ready to introduce himself to the world. Drawing inspiration from artists like Bensen Boone, Ed Sheeran, and Justin Bieber, Kyle aims to write relatable songs that resonate with a wide audience. His music genres float between easygoing pop and folk songs, often reflecting life experiences from his own perspective as well as the perspectives of others he has been involved with.
